Who is Pearls Gone Wild?
Pearls Gone Wild is an independently owned and operated company formed by Vanessa and David. While living in Florida, Vanessa and David saw a similar concept being done at major theme parks for a very high price. After opening their very first oyster they became hooked to the excitment and suspense involved in the process. The two then decided that they wanted to share their awesome experience with many others but at an affordable price and make it more accessible to everyone, not just those visiting theme parks. Over the course of 6 months, the two invested their time and capital into making their dream of bringing the concept to so many a reality. After searching the globe and meeting with various oyster providers, David and Vanessa finally found a reputable oyster source that provided what they believe are the best pearls on the market, with incredibly beautiful colors, consistent shape, amazing luster and consistent size. They then spent much time creating their website, designing their logo, editing their first commercial and practicing for their first live show. The first show was all friends and family attending, topping out at about 40 live views and about the same amount of Facebook likes. Vanessa and David saw the great reactions of their friends and family and knew that as time went on the company would grow. With more hard work and persistence the couple is proud to see their passion grow into a company that now reaches over 4 million facebook users per week. Now residing in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania, Vanessa and David together create their live shows every week and run all the aspects of the business. Vanessa and David are so thankful for their loyal viewers and everyones overwhelming support of their dream. They receive thank you messages, photos, videos, incredible feedback and touching stories daily; all puting a huge smile on their faces knowing that their small idea has touched so many and has brought excitment into their viewers' lives.

Can I switch the pearl in my pendant?
Absolutely, the process is very simple and takes only a few seconds. All of our pendants except the Tear Drop open the same way. Simply remove the chain, open the pendant from the top and remove and replace the pearl. For the Tear Drop, you will notice that at the very top of one of the sides there is a small gap. Pull the side open just enough to remove the pearl. Once you place a new pearl in the pendant you can simply pinch the side back together.
What kind of oysters do you use?
We've done extensive research and testing of oysters from many suppliers around the world until we were confident to offer what we believe to be the very best on the market. Our oysters are cultured to have a pearl inside each one.
Is there a pearl in every oyster and what happens if I open one without a pearl?
Our pearls are cultured, meaning there is over a 99% chance there is a pearl inside. If we open an oyster for you on our live show and there happens to be no pearl we will simply open another one for you. If you open Oysters To Go at home and are worried there may be no pearl inside just film yourself opening them and if one doesn't have a pearl send us the video and we will send you another. Make sure you check the "meat" of the oyster very well, as often the pearls are hidden. You must have a video to seek a replacement.
What does cultured mean?
At a young age our oysters surgically implanted with an irritant, a very, very tiny polished sphere often the size of a grain of sand from a mussel shell and piece of mantle tissue from a donor mollusk. As a defense mechanism againt the irritant inside it, the oyster creates a fluid to surround the irritant. Layer upon layer this fluid, called nacre, coats the irritant to form a beautiful pearl over the course of years. Colors can be influenced by the colors of the mollusk's shell lips, or a filtration process during the time of culturing. Due to the extremely high cost of such processes many farmers opt not to perform them, thus making the most vibrantly colored pearls very rare.
How much is my pearl worth?
Many factors go into determining the value of a pearl. Characteristics which define the quality of pearls include Color, Shape, Size, Luster and Surface. Feel free to visit your local jeweler to receive a valuation.

How do I care for my pearl?
Pearls are organic gems that require special care to protect them for a long time.
-Pearls can be harmed by contact with many chemicals found in household cleaners, cosmetics, hair care products and perfumes.
-Only clean your pearl with water and mild natural soap. Anything containing vinegar, ammonia, chlorine or bleach will harm your pearls.
-Use a soft damp cloth to clean your pearl. Never use abrasive materials such as toothbrushes or scouring pads.
-Never leave your pearls around a direct source of heat.
-Since pearls are an organic material they need a little moisture so that they do not dry out. Never store them in a very dry room or in a safety deposit box.
-Only use jewelry cleaners that are labels safe for pearls.
-Store your pearls wrapped in a soft cloth of in a pouch to protect them from abrasive objects.
-If anything is spilled or dripped on your pearls you can soak them in lukewarm water and mild natural soap. Rinse and dry. Wearing your pearls will return some oils from your skin to the pearls.
-Always remove pearls when applying perfume or hairspray as both can damage the pearl.
-pH of your sweat can damage pearls so it is best to remove your pearls before exercising or undertaking in an activity that would produce sweat.
